What is WECSHOF?
Answer:
The Windsor/Essex County Hall of Fame is a non profit organization which was established in 1981 to preserve the historical sports heritage in Windsor and Essex County by identifying the sports achievements of persons connected with this Region. The affairs of the Organization are administered by an elected, Board of Directors.
Question:
Who is eligible for election and induction into the Hall of Fame?
Answer:
Any athlete or founder who has brought honour and recognition to Windsor or Essex County through their athletic efforts and achievements in sport, or through the development, management, or promotion of sport; provided that they are identified with Windsor/Essex County, and have made a significant contribution to local or regional sport may be considered for induction into the Sports Hall of Fame.

Would you outline the annual nomination/selection process for new inductees?
Answer:
1. Members wishing to nominate candidates for the Hall of Fame may obtain the appropriate form, (Athlete or Founder), from any Board member or download a copy from our web site (http://wecshof.org).
2. The name of an individual, with sufficient biographical information, must be on the candidates list by December 31, to be eligible for consideration as an inductee the following year. (i.e. nomination and biographical information received by December 31, 2007, person eligible for consideration in 2008)
3. The annual selection process begins with the nominations from members, which are compared to the existing lists of candidates maintained by the Selection Committee. Aided by a Selection Committee report, the Board evaluates a broad selection of candidates, using the four categories listed below.
a) Level of Competition - Professional, Olympic, Semi-Pro, International, National,
Provincial, Local.
b) Total Years - Competitor/Involvement
c) Achievements/Special Awards/Positions Held/Special Recognitions
d) List of Sports Played/Administrative or Coaching Positions
After this evaluation process, the members of the Board vote to determine the number of candidates to be inducted, in the Athlete and Founder categories. Candidates receiving the highest vote totals, within quotas for the two inductee categories are elected. Induction into the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame is formalized at the Annual Banquet, usually held in the month of October.
Question:How does one become a member of WECSHOF?
Answer:
Anyone is eligible to become a voting member of the Sports Hall of Fame; all that is required is registration and the payment of an annual $25.00 fee To obtain information and application forms please contact:

What are the right and privileges of membership in this organization?
Answer:
Bona fide members may:
a) attend the annual AGM, held in May and suggest and vote on changes to the Constitution
b) nominate and elect Directors
c) nominate potential Hall of Fame candidates
Members also receive a newsletter, in the Fall

How did the first kiosk come about?
Answer:
This kiosk and the accompanying website viewed at http://wecshof.org was developed under the leadership of Net Success Inc. in Windsor, Ontario.
The Net Success Inc. team would like to thank the members of the Board of Directors of the Windsor /Essex Sports Hall of Fame and Museum for their guidance on the project. We would like to extend a special note of thanks to Sheila Wright who played a lead role in the project, Mr. Eddi Chittaro, the Chair of the Board and Mr. Jack Costello who, although not particularly computer-savvy, originated the vision.
Finally, we must thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation especially Regional Program Manager, Ms. Sandy Braendle for their leadership and financial assistance during the development of the kiosk.

When was the website revamped?
Answer:
The website under went a complete change during the summer of 2007. Web designer, Kuantan Ma, working in conjunction with Director, Sheila Wright, and
AngelStar Digital,
implemented many new features and ideas to bring the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame website inline with current web technology.
